Power consumption after update of acpid (1.0.10-5ubuntu2.1, 1.0.10-5ubuntu2.2)

Asked by spalmer8

I have a Sylvania Meso G Netbook ( Rebranded MSI Wind) that has been performing beautifully on 8.04 and then on 10.04. Never had an issues with power consumption or the 4 cell battery that it has.

On 10/22/2010 update manager ran and pulled in acpid (1.0.10-5ubuntu2.1, 1.0.10-5ubuntu2.2). Since then my battery cannot charge (it was working fine) and my netbook is certainly pulling more power. Please advise what troubleshooting steps you need from me to resolve this issue before my netbook becomes fried.
