Battery Consumption Problem X220

Asked by Eric Poitras

The new version of Ubuntu 11.10 seems to eat much more battery than the previous one, 11.04. The cpu fan is always running the the laptop is generating much more heat than before.

My laptop is the Lenovo X220.

I have the same problem with my inspiron 14z with a intel i5 + intel HD graphics, I just bought it and installed ubuntu 11.10 and besides the notorious battery consumption compare to windows 7, when the fan start doesn't stop, even if i'am not using the laptop. I don't know if it is a config problem or a OS problem.
