Cpu fans keep on running- Overheating issue. What should I do. Installed latest 64 bit Ubuntu stable release? - Lenovo G550

Asked by Vivek Ahuja

Hello Friends,

I have Lenovo G550 Ideapad laptop, powered by Pentium processor. The CPU fan keeps on running and consumes all the power of my battery. I guess the CPU is running hot.
I installed latest 64bit Ubuntu desktop edition on my laptop a week back.
What should I do? Is there any software available to reduce CPU processing or any code to run..

Vivek

Make sure you have the latest BIOS. I also suggest you run:

ubuntu-bug acpi

To report the bug

I ran the utility and reported the bug.
Should I wait or install any software?
