Ubuntu11.04 cannot recognize my toshiba battery

Hello!Firstly,forgive my poor English,i'm chinese
power icon likes lighting,
and power Manager hasn't the "On Battery" option.
code:
dmesg | grep batt
[ 0.915167] ACPI: Deprecated procfs I/F for battery is loaded, please retry with CONFIG_ACPI_PROCFS_POWER cleared
[ 0.915198] ACPI: Battery Slot [BAT1] (battery absent)

I found many similar issues in forums,but no Solution ^^^My laptop shutdown ,as I cannot know when the battery is die...
Why?drivers?
or else?
my laptop is toshiba L600 57B.

Are there any bugs reported with ACPI?
Do you have the latest BIOS?
