Looking for corresponding TAO package

Asked by Thomas Lockhart

I've found the packages for ACE (thank you!) but am not finding packages for TAO, the CORBA layer built on top of it. I did have some success converting my RPMs using alien, but would like to find the native packages. If there are build issues with those native packages I can help with that; I have long experience with ACE and TAO. Thanks for any suggestions!

Thanks for the reply. That site is for some kind of educational software, not the TAO CORBA package.

I see that the debian build infrastructure packaged with ACE/TAO seems to *not* include the TAO portions. I'll work on getting this sorted out.

Thanks for your support!

Remark: The version numbers of ace in Ubuntu do not contain the string "ubuntu". This indicates that the version in Ubuntu was copied from Debian without additional Ubuntu-specific modification.

In line with your comment #2: it's probably better to investigate this in Debian.

Thanks for looking into this. The upstream debian packages are actually built from sources in the ACE/TAO distro and the TAO portions do not seem to be present. Will pursue this with the developers. Thanks again!
