mailmerge direct to printer is undocumented

tarvid@venus:~/marketing$ AbiWord-2.4 -m vpa3.csv -p - vpa.abw

no output.

I can output to a file vpa3.ps, view that file with evince but nothing prints.

If I convert it to pdf and open with Adobe it priints.

There must be a better way.

Normally, -p - would output the result to the screen, not to the printer. I am not sure if Abiword changed the convention to send the file to the default printer. The character - is reserved for the "default output device", which is normally the terminal window.

You mention that with "-p vpa3.ps" it creates a file and that you can view the file with Evince. In this case, it worked.
Now, if you cannot print this PS file directly with Evince, then you have an issue with Evince (well, "gnome-print") not being able to print a specific Postscript file.

If you can create a sample .ps file (without any personal information), it would be good to try it out why it does not print directly.
