Ubuntu repositories are still on 0.0.23.1-4ubuntu3, while Alpha 25 was released yesterday, on August 8

Asked by Akbarkhon Variskhanov

Are we going to get the latest versions of the packages or is nobody maintaining them? Neither the official Ubuntu universe repository nor the WFG PPA contain the latest version. I really think it needs to be addressed as soon as possible.

Manfred Hampl suggests this article as an answer to your question:
FAQ #3037: “no rolling release”.

In addition to the FAQ linked in my previous message you have to take into account that Ubuntu is copying that package from Debian.
Ubuntu will do an update only when Debian has prepared a new package. There is already a bug report in Debian requesting an upgrade: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=992017

For versions in PPAs you have to contact the provider of the PPA directly. The Ubuntu question area is not the right address for that. I assume you have to look at https://launchpad.net/~wfg
