7.04 for ppc

I would like to get ubuntu 7.04 4 ppc. (emac)

Download a CD image from here:

every time i booted into the urleer versions of ubuntu, I got a mesage,that said, Failed to start the X Server (your graphical interface). It is likely that it was not set up correctly. Would you like to view the X Server output to diagnose this problem?

What can i do?

Add "vga=vesa" to boot options or use the alternate install cd.

how to i do that?

Choose "Start Ubuntu in safe graphic mode" while booting from a cd.
If that doesn't work then download alternate cd from here:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/releases/7.04/release/ubuntu-7.04-alternate-powerpc.iso
and install Ubuntu from it.

Could i use the alternet cd as a desktop cd?

Does it have all the feachers that the desktop cd has?

Alternate cd is not desktop cd. It is for installing only. Desktop cd is a livecd - a system run from cd.
Choose safe graphics mode (in desktop cd only) from this screen:

I am not really wanting to install yet just seeing if ubuntu can work on my computer.

but i will keep trying.

you see, i cant even get to the part to say i want to boot into safe graphics mode.
