consistent behaviour of the gnome filemanager

Asked by megaimmi2005

file-handling seems a bit mixed up when moving/copying files around...
e.g. when selecting some files in icon-mode, you can draw a rectangle around them and select them this way. in windows (yeah... ;-) ) this is possible in list/detailview, in gnome not! ok, next i selct copy and try to "insert" them somewhere else. again this works in icon-view without a problem, but in detail-view only if there is empty space below the list, at least via the context-menu - it works via menu-bearbeiten-einfuegen.
when i drag a file to the tree on the left, this works fine for directory-entries. then i try this on the "root" of my usb-drive (usb-disk-icon) it won't :-/
i know, gnome is not windows, but is should at least work... well... consistent
