Try Maitreya, http://www.saravali.de/maitreya/index.html, there's no package for ubuntu but it's simple to install from source.
sudo apt-get install libwxgtk2.8-dev libwxbase2.8-0 libwxbase2.8-dev libwxgtk2.8-0 wx2.8-headers wx2.8-i18n wx-common
than ./configure, make, sudo make install.
On my system works great. :)

Hi Sbn,

These commands regards to the compilation process of Maitreya program. As the program is distributed in source form, it needs to be compiled before it can be used. If you don't understand how to follow the compilation steps, ask for help here.

Cheers

Morinus - Free Astrological Program Written in Python, Using The Swiss Ephemeris

Morinus is an easy to use astrology software under GPLv3 license. It uses the swiss ephemeris so it's very accurate (5000BC - 5000AD).
It runs on every Operating System where Python and wxPython are available (Linux, Unix, Windows, MacOS). [1]
