I killed my sound, please help

All was working perfectly UNTIL I installed the linuxant softmodem driver, and now my sound is dead.
I'm not able to find what I need to remove to get the sound back.
I will truly appreciate your help.

I fixed it with this:
sudo dpkg -r hsfmodem
Which modem driver would you recommend?

Have you tried installing package sl-modem-daemon? You will have to download it from the site http://packages.ubuntu.com
