hp lp3065 x-config entries

fiesty --when using sudo nvidia-settings it identifies my nvidia 7600gt card and HP LP3065 monitor. I can set the resolutio to xxxx by 1600 and the display does display that resolution. But when I save the configuration I get error messages mainly that it can't determine the vertical refresh rate and therefore fails to build the x-config file. Can I manually enter the monitor properties to get a good build?

resolution is 2560 x 1600

you can manually enter monitor settings in /etc/X11/xorg.conf
