can`t run keybord shortcut on sony vaio vgn-cs33m

Hi, i have sony vaio VGN-CS33M laptop. None of special function button(like up/down volume,brightness) working in my laptop...
Please help me to figure out this..

I don't have any solution to your problem. But, let me say that I'm experiencing the problem with the brightness control button, in my Lenovo laptop. I'm now controlling the brightness using the GNOME panel gadget named-'Power Manager Brightness Applet 2.28.1'. It works fine. You can get it by right-clicking on your Ubuntu panel and selecting 'add to panel' and select the particular gadget.

Can you help with this problem?
