Ubuntu doens't start

Asked by BiruZ

I've downloaded ubuntu and kubuntu both for amd64. they don't start. after i insert the cd i select Start or Install and then it shows a loading bar.
After that it shows at the bottom Kernel Alive and at the top shows Loading Please Wait and right after that line appears my monitor goes black then turns off like it has no input signal or something. I've tried waiting for about 15minutes but nothing happens...

my computer has:
Athlon64 3500+
Motherboard LanParty UT nF3 Ultra-D
Ati x850Pro
80GB Seagate Barracuda PATA
160GB Seagate Barracuda SATA
Pinnacle PCTVSat

thnx :)

This is likely to be a problem with the graphics settings during the install, try installing in safe graphics mode. Alternatively try the Alternate install ISO.
