How to Group Like-Windows in the Toolbar

Asked by artbeall

I would like to group like-applications in the tool bar like you do in windows xp. For example you have five console windows instantiated and they appear in the tool bar as one. If you click on the one you are able to select one particular console window out of the five. I am using Gnome by the way.

Hello,

this is possible go this way:

1. to place the drawer ->right click on toolbar ->select drawer ->hit the add button and
2. to place the application in the drawer ->right click on the drawer (now the drawer in the toolbar) ->add to drawer -> Application Launcher (which contains all applications from the gnome menu) or Custom Application Launcher (to cerate a new launcher)

Hmm what artbeall probably wanted is to group windows like this:
http://blog.jefftickle.com/2005/07/20/gnome-panel-grouping-idea/

It is possible, right-click on the left of the applications buttons in the toolbar (on the right of the show desktop button, should be two small column of dots).
Then go to preferences.
Then you can choose "Always Group".
