Pulse audio has some major advantages, but if you prefer to remove it from your system, please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PulseAudio

Pulse audio is not the one with bugs. I spoke with a member of the Ubuntu Audio Team and the bugs area actually because we have a backward capability that lets you work without pulseaudio. If that is removed, a lot of bugs will be resolved, but people who bypass it cannot work at all.

If you do face a problem with pulseaudio, do log a bug.

Thanks

read "the bugs area actually" as "the bugs are actually"
