ACER 3222 WXMi notebook KDE problem

Asked by palo73

Hi

I have problem with KDE after Kubuntu 6.06 installation on my wide screen notebook Acer 3222 WXMi. Installation looks nice, during xserver config installer ask me for wide resolution (my notebook is using wide screen, in kubuntu 5.10 it was not there, so i was surprised now), but when KDE start, i'm receiveing just a black screen...command line is working.

thanks for answers

When you say the command line is working, does it go automatically to a command line and not load KDE at all, or do you mean that Control+Alt+F1, Control+Alt+F2, etc works?

after boot up kde is started automatically, but when KDE is started, display blink a little and stay black (or deep deep dark green). Control+Alt+F1, Control+Alt+F2 works well. I have all functinality of command line with network, just KDE doesn't work.

Did you solve your problem? What kind of graphics card do you have? My notebook has an ATI X700, and I learned that the ati driver messes up which is the primary graphics output. Try hooking up an external monitor to your notebook and see what happens.

Can you help with this problem?
