How to use Beryl without proprietary graphic drivers

Asked by M. Kim

How to use Beryl without proprietary graphic drivers?
Thanks.
(By the way, I know Beryl merged with compiz creating Compiz fusion, so if you know also about compiz fusion, please answer that, too.)
Thanks and happy day!

I don't think it's possible, since Compiz Fusion (and Beryl too AFAIK) is an OpenGL-accelerated environment. The open drivers don't have the support needed, thanks to the manufacturers not releasing docs. The drivers provided by the manufacturers work fine. I've only ever used nVidia cards, but I hear they're much better supported than ATI. I haven't seen (or attempted) any success with other manufacturers.

Can you help with this problem?
