i need to know how to clean a hdd for resale

 i want to know how to clean 9.04 and 9.10 from a hdd for resale.

To completely wipe the hard drive, I like Derek's Boot and Nuke(DBAN)

it will not work . wipe 2.3.1 will not work , shred -vfz -10 does not work on ext4

if i re-install ubuntu 9.10 will it remove all history and privet info stored on the hard drive?? re-install with encryption enabled ?

You can wipe your HDD with Gparted live CD witch you can download from http://gparted.sourceforge.net/
