An article of which proves a good point...

Asked by Theatre-X

I read this article and I think it proves a good point. But what are the odds of this actually happening?

Based on Ubuntu life cycle http://www.ubuntu.com/products/ubuntu/release-cycle

Long Term Support releases for desktop and server. There are deployment platforms with wide hardware and software support and ideal or individuals and businesses making a longer term investment in Ubuntu

If a user want be on a more static release i suggest to install only Long Time Support Release.

Hope this helps

Quote from the entry link:

#Think:
There is no such thing as 'odd'.
More users create more bug reports.
Ubuntu isn't a political regime, it's about freedom of choice, commitment and community around the world.
One has to break an egg to make an omelet.
#Action:
'As dedicated Ubuntu user...' Get involved e.g. (bug reports), contribute (answers) and test (unstable).

Very low, Ubuntu will include the latest updates from the upstream as
they are released, that's what keeps the users on the bleeding edge of
the software and hardware integration :)

Whenever I think of "Updates" with Ubuntu, I was think of hardware support more than anything. I have had a few problems with older hardware such as ISA Soundcards.

Is it possible 10.04 will help further diminish problems like that?

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Theatre-X for more information if necessary.
