problem with ATI redeon mobility x300

Hi,
I have an ATI RADEON MOBILITY X300 graphics card, and I have a slight problem as described here:

The last message in that thread said the installing XGL solved his problem.
So I too installed XGL and when I logged on to the XGL session I got a screen that was all blur, and couldn't see anything but stripes and unreadable text.
Can anyone help me...?

Hello !

First install binary drivers for your ATI card : https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/ATI

Then Follow the instructions on beryl's website : http://wiki.beryl-project.org/wiki/Install_Beryl_on_Ubuntu_Feisty_with_XGL

I did exactly the same 2 days ago, I hope this will work for you as well !
