I am an idiot when it comes to installing things on my terminal, if someone can please email me the how to, access programs via the terminal, it would very much help me out. As it stands, my comp cannot handle any media, and its more then a little irratating. Particularly .mp3, .flv, .avi .mpeg and other sound and video <email address hidden>, any help is appriciated, and will not, however switch back to windows

In order to play .mp3 and other restricted formats go to System > Software Sources and check all the checkboxes. Reload your package lists by entering in the terminal: sudo apt-get update.

For DVDs and win32 formats go to www.medibuntu.org and follow the instructions for your version of the ubuntu.
