How can I upgrade Etch server to 9.10 server

Hello,
an anyone tell me how to upgrade a Debian Etch server to the newest 9.10 server?

Please made a backup on your Etch server of your /home/ dir and subdirs and also saving the /etc/ dir and subdirs and take a list of all installed packages.

Then the quick and right way is to install Ubuntu 9.10 server from scratch then restore your home dirs and then reinstall and reconfigure all packages installed in your debian Etch server looking for previous setting into the saved /etc/ dirs.
