Cannot download GUFW

I am not able to download GUFW. I start the download and it says "dowloading Package files - Dowloading file 1 of 1", but then it just sits there. Eventually it times out with error msg :

W: Failed to fetch http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/g/gui-ufw/gufw_9.10.4-0ubuntu1_all.deb
Could not connect to us.archive.ubuntu.com:80 (91.189.88.134), connection timed out [IP: 91.189.88.134 80]

I am a newbie here. Have read through some of the support info and am not finding anything. I do have an internet connection and am using using Ubuntu 9.10 - the Karmic Koala - released in October 2009.

Is it true that I don't really need this firewall? Is it built into 9.10? Seems I'm getting that impression by reading some of the forum posts, however it is recommended in my help documentation on my Ubuntu 9.10 desktop.

Yes I am.... I sure appreciate your help. I meant to reply that I was able to. I have a brand new computer and was deep into getting all my software downloaded.
