Logitech Communicate STX does not work on 9.10

Asked by Kiko Barcelli

Hi my webcam Logitech Communicate STX used to work perfectly with ubuntu 8.04... now I installed 9.10 fresh from CD and does not work anymore...
This seems to be a known issue from what I read, but not sure what I should do... just wait?... is there any temporary workaround?
Thanks.

Thanks.
I found out that my camera worked with cheese, so my problem was on some applications like skype, so I tried pre-loading the v4l1 back-compatibility pack as described in the following guide and it works!
