no PUEDO INSTALAR EL JAVA

Hola a todos, necesito de su ayuda, no puedo instalar el java, para poder entrar a unas paginas, si alguien pudiera ayudarme se lo agradeceria.

Hola intente instalar el ubuntu-restricted-extras que te instala el java

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin

Esto en una terminal.

Podrias indicar que versión de ubuntu instlaste y en que ordenador marca y modelo por favor.
