upgrade from 9.04 to ubuntu 9.10 i have some issues

Hi Ubuntu experties,

I just upgrade my ubuntu 9.04 (sabily) to 9.10 on line as per update manager, but i`m having the following problem.
1. No sound during completion of booting
2. Unable to detect my to the internet automatically
3. Hanging during shut down / when i want restart
4. Can I revert back my sysytem to previous version (9.04) and then I want to redo again the upgrading process.

i blve you can assist me.

I think that if you do the upgrade process again you will get the same problems. If you want to use ubuntu 9.10 I would download the live cd and try that first to see if there are any problems you should be able to see if number 2 and 3 are solved. If they are I would consider doing a clean install. It is important to copy all your personal data to another place as a clean install will delete all user files etc. Also what model number is you computer as you could google it to see if people are having the same problems and how they fixed it. Hope this helps.

Indeed, the best solution would be to back up your /home folder, format and start a fresh installation from scratch. In-place upgrading often brings problems, these are often solved by a fresh install.

I did the clean installaltion as per you advise for sabily 9.04. Thanks Scottus.
