Shutdown problem after update to 9.1

Asked by Jairo

After update from ubuntu 9.04 to 9.1, I have shutdown/restart problems with the messages:
Asking all remaining processes to terminate...
  Deconfiguring network interfaces...
  Deactivating swap...
21073.960200 Buffer I/O error on drive lopp0, logical block 3241231
21073.960277 Buffer I/O error on drive lopp0, logical block 2674762

Logical block numbers are different each shutdown attempt. I'm using ubuntu on NTFS partition (WUBI install). Is this problem a bug from distro or can some configuration fix it?

This is a known bug:

See also this forum thread:

The fix is released and should be available through the usual update process once testing is complete. Make sure "Recommended Updates" is enabled in Software Sources (System->Administration->Software Sources->Updates).

Can you help with this problem?
