Beryl Emerald Theme

Asked by wmlooi

Hi,

I want to change my current theme to Beryl Emerald Theme but no luck to make it works. I have installed the gtk2-engines, gtk2-engine-clearlooks (Is it same as Clearlooks Cairo Glider? I couldn't find it), Beryl Manager, Beryl Settings Manager, emerald & emerald theme. Then, followed the instructions as below to installed the theme but nothing was happened. Even though I tried to reboot the PC & Reload Window Manager/Decorator. Could you pls help me? Or could someone tell me the settings how to make it works? I want to make my desktop looks like transparency. The Beryl Emerald Theme looks awesome.
Thanks.

Instructions:
- untar the file (tar -xzvf blueglass-emerald.tar.gz)
- import the "blueglass-emerald.emerald" file using the beryl theme manager.
- ** optional **: to activate the profile (fading windows, etc), import "blueglass-emerald.profile" using the beryl settings manager.

Could somebody pls help me on this? At least can make my Ubuntu 7.04 desktop looks like Fedora 7. I want to prove to someone that my move to Ubuntu is a right choice instead of Fedora 7. The 3d/transparency like desktop is very nice. And, I think the Ubuntu can make it like that.
Thanks.

Thanks for your question. I would recommend you read the wiki page on beryl first to make sure your hardware is compatible with beryl and to make sure you are installing everything needed and in the correct manor, you can find the page here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BerylOnFeisty
