How to make a Canon LBP660 printer work with Ubuntu 9.10

I have tried but not succeeded - I am not an IT wizz kid!!!

I have a new DELL computer set up first with Ubuntu in August and updated to 9.10 recently - the problem is still the same - impossible to make the Canon LBP660 printer work. Can you give me a solution, I would be grateful.

Have you tried following http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1106839&highlight=canon+lbp+660, I can't see why it wouldn't work in Ubuntu 9.10.
