adding an antivirus program

I would like to use Free-av (avira) antivirus program. I have downloaded it but can't seem to hit the combination to open and install it.

Hello,

An antivirus is not really needed on Ubuntu.
If you really want an antivirus, You can install the free antivirus clamav:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ClamAV
