Hi,
You can specify where Epiphany should download files in the preferences: menu Edit -> Preferences, tab General. The default setting is the Downloads folder in your home directory.

Home address is probably the start page when you start the browser (can't tell for sure as I'm using a Dutch version).
So you've selected the desktop as the download destination and the mp3 doesn't appear on your desktop. Have you tried using Nautilus to find it? Locations -> Desktop

Hello Richard,
when I first opened edit preferences general tab it had already Desktop
selected and in the box home address there was something like
usr/artwork something and I erased this thinking this was somehow
wrong!? I am unfamiliar with Nautilus .. abit of a newish beginner and
if you have the patience to continue helping me to find a solution could
you please treat me as a newbie who knows very little but needs to be
taken by the hand through the individual steps!?
thanks
John

John,

As for the home address: forget it, it doesn't apply to your problem.

In the menu on the top of your screen you should find Locations -> Desktop. This opens Nautilus (a file browser) in the location /home/john/Desktop. ('john' is the name you entered as your username for Ubuntu. Could be different in your case.) The files you have downloaded should be there. Please check if they are and then report back.

I take it you've found your downloads? Still it's strange they don't appear in the folder you specified.
