revert to 9.04 from 9.10 due to e220 issue

if i revert to older ubuntu version will i loose all data? i.e. will it constitute a wipe of the drive?

Well, the smartest way to go is to download and burn the 9.04 cd, backup your data, and do a clean install. There have been some how-to's that are coming up about how to do it without losing data, but as far as I know these haven't worked.

The easiest way is to do a clean install. And so yes, you will lose data. Make sure to back up all your files and preferences.
