iplayer not working in karmic AMD 64 bit

Since upgrading from 9.04 Jaunty 64 bit to 9.10 Karmic 64 bit, BBC iplayer has stopped working on my AMD 64 bit machine. I can select any item I like, but when I hit the 'click to play' button nothing happens. It worked fine with Jaunty.
Youtube videos still play OK.

This is a current bug in karmic it can be found here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/flashplugin-nonfree/+bug/410407. There are several workarounds on the top of the bug. I find that holding right click down and then clicking the button I want works for me.
