sound problems again

After not having system sounds by using my onboard audio I tried using a sound blaster audigy live 24 bit sound card. After reinstalling ubuntu 7.04 the sound card worked, then when I shut off my computer and started it back up the sound wasn't working again. Any info on the problem would be great. =)

did you perform any software upgrades since the second installation?

I haven't been able to install the drivers for the card because I couldn't find any that supported Ubuntu.
I even checked their website for the drivers and they don't have any drivers that work for Linux.

But other than that I haven't made any software installations.

I think I have finally got the sound working again, by disabling the on board sound in the BIOS.
