Links not active in MSN (Windoes live email) Email

Asked by mountcross

I use the MSN (windows live mail) email (installed) and when I email someone else on MSN (windows live mail) email and put a link in the email it arrives inactive. However if I send and email with a link to say Gmail it arrives active. I am using Firefox Browser. How do I get my links in email to be active in all cases ?

Many thanks Cameron - yes you are right its getting close to and answer - the silly thing is when you use Windows Live Mail to sent an email with a link in it say to Gmail it opens ok in Gmail - however Windows Live to Windows Live email links stay inactive and the only way is to cut and paste into browser as you are unable to click on them - we are close though ! thanks

Further testing by me shows that when a link arrives via email to Windows Live email and it is active it stays active - the problem appears to be at the very original moment when setting up an email in Windows live email and pasting a link into the email - from that point on Windows Live to windows live email the link remains inactive ? Help ??

Further testing done by me - loaded Opera Browswer and exactly the same thing happens when you pop a link into an email and send it to another Windows Live email - suggest the solution lies with Windows Live email - HELP ! In meantime am using Gmail but we need a solution to this please !

I have solved my own problem after much testing and experimenting . To make a link active in Windows Live Mail to Windows Live Mail all one has to do is when selecting "New" message then make sure in the line where you see "spell check" select "plain text" from the 3 choices of "plain text" , "edit in html" and "rich text" - all email links to any email client will now receive as active. Marking this as Solved. Thanks.

***Important update**** In Windows Live Mail now when you wish to send an email click on new and when the new message screen comes up and you want to include an active link in the message body wit Rich Text mouse over symbol in Rich Text toolbar that says "send Hyperlink" - put in link required including http:// and click ok and link will be put into message body as Active and will send and recieve to any mail client including Windows Live Mail as Active ! No need to use the Plain Text solution above - full service.
