Logging into Ubuntu hosted Shared-Folder on XP machine

I know there have been a lot of question on this subject, but each one runs into a dead-end. I have a shared folder on my Ubuntu laptop that I'm running off the CD. I can see the Ubuntu Server in my network Domain (MSHOME) however when I double click on it I am asked for a username and password. I have entered everything I could think of and tried many of the steps both on here and other Ubuntu help site I've found. NOTHING works! I have been trying to work through this for about 5 hours straight now and am getting very agitated. All I need to do is find a way to login from my XP machine.

I had similar problem

Have you create the windows users in your ubuntu server and give they access ?
