My external drive lacks LBA support

Hi. I have two hard disks. And one is internal drive and one is a external firewire/usb drive. But, I found out that it lacks LBA supports since inside the external drive was SCSI drive. So, when with having XP on my internal drive, I tried to install ubuntu 7.04, but it failed showing grub error 25. Now, I know what is the problem. What can I do to solve the problem?
