suspend/resume problem 9.10 - resume throws reboot

Asked by Roger Denison

Suspend/Resume worked perfectly with 9.04.
Having installed 9.10 (fresh install or upgrade), suspend behaves normally, but pressing the power button throws a reboot instead of resuming.

go to power->management
and select the general tab..
what's the option selected for "press power button"
changing it might solve the problem..

Press power button was 'ask me'. (it didn't).
Changed it to 'suspend'. Behaviour just the same - it suspends just fine, but resume throws a reboot every time.
9.04 was fine, so why has it been changed?

Actually I don't think that the "press power button" config was for
suspend scenarios. It is supposed to take the mentioned action when user
session is active (not in a suspended state). So, I suppose that this
is working fine.
We are probably not looking in the right place..
