Asked by joe

i have 256mb ram 845 intel board and 2.26ghz processer which were sufficient for ubuntu i wanted to install according to the specidication on the cd. i was able to run live cd but when i tried to install it by double clicking the install icon nothing happened. I triend right clicking and and clicking open as well but nothing happended. after number of tries when i waited for long time about15-20 minutes i saw an install window but it was completely blnk except install at top of the window. i repeated the processes many times changed the options during bootings and did every thing i can but still i was unable to install it. I copied the cd in windows it was copied smoothly so no problem in cd as well then what's wrong?

I would advise you to use the Alternate CD for install on your system.

I'm not saying that the CDs are bad; the LiveCD can be difficult on machines with relatively low memory. There are much better chances to have a good installation by using the Alternate CD, which is requiring much less system resources to run.

Can you help with this problem?
