Problem with samsung MFP -Drivers? scx-4216f

Asked by smortaus

Hi there,
I am very new to Linux and I am coming upto speed with it – be it slowly..

I have to say that I am very impressed with Ubuntu. I am extremely confused with file structure and the terminal mode – so if possible any anwers coming – could you do it in a very basic mode type response.

The Problem I have.

I have a printer – MODEL Number : scx-4216f
The samsung drivers for Linux do not work... I have the printer connected via USB.

Any help would be most appreciated – again I have to stress that I am new to the Linux side so any answers – could it be in very simple format.

Regards Danny

I solved my problem by following these steps: http://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/smfpv3.html You can try there. With me it was easy and fast. Follow steps 1 through 4 and had my scanner and printer working well!
My system is Ubuntu 4.10 LTS and my printer is "Samsung SCX-4216F / XAZ."
