Why so many permission problems installing?

I just want to note following :

I installed the netbookremix 9.10 from live cd onto a new partition.

1. My gdm did not boot, it was in an endless look looking for the not installed nvidia
that was after I installed the nvidia

2. My sound did not work, the user was not in the sound group

3. The other hdd did not mount, I added them to the fstab, but they were listed on the main screen. I suppose another permission problem.

Though all this, I was not able to get support on the irc channel, it was flooded completely.

Thanks, it all works. But I would not recommend this to a n00b.
