Huaweii E220 mount failure 9.10 ubuntu

Network Manager tries to connect but keeps reporting mount failure Sr 32. The USB device itself is not registering in the list of connected devices. All other USB devices are visible and working perfectly.

Theres a bug in Ubuntu 9.10 which prevents some Huawei sticks from working.
A fix is under development.
