Line IN not Monitored 9.10

Asked by jyaworski@gmail.com

Hello All,

Newbie here. I did a fresh install of 9.10

The system sounds all work. I can play Mp3's and videos and hear the sound. I can record from the line in input and it does play back correctly. The problem is that there is no sound while using the Line-In Input. I have a turntable connected to the PC using the Line-IN input. While playing a record there is no sound.

I have updated the Kernal. I have checked the alsamixer and nothing seems to be muted. While recording I can see the Input levels. I can monitor the input levels and I know that the system is detecting the input. I can record from the Line-In Input. The system does not send the Input to the Line-Out for some reason?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can use a piggy back cable to the amp and PC so I can hear the sound. I would much rather configure the system though.

Thanks!

John

just try pulse audio in place of alsa mixer or
in sound recorder just enable volume as source input, now play your record player and see that you are getting output from the headset or amplifier if connected... if so then record it with sound recorder. Although did not do for line IN but this procedure I do for online music/ Webcasts.
