Internet connection Problem in ubuntu 9.04

Asked by Shaunak

I have installed ubuntu 9.04 recently. Previously I was using ubuntu 7.10. I have broad band connection with simens c2110 modem. My user name & password is set inside the modem & ubuntu 7.10 used to detect the network connection automatically when I turned on the pc with modem on. But ubuntu 9.04 is not detecting the network connection & a cross mark is showing that no network connection is found. Do I need to install any driver for my modem? please help.... Thanks in advance.

do u try with Nokia. i'm using 9.04 & get net-connection by simply connect it through data-cable. i think ur mobile modem is not recognized. try to configure gnome-ppp manually or from command line.

Can you help with this problem?
