Experiencing a serious kernel error with Karmic Koala.

Asked by Allen3

I have a fresh install from CD of Karmic Koala. I have been getting a serious kernel error occasionally, although this morning an upgrade came through and I haven't seen it since then. Also, I don't like the Rythmbox media player at all and installed Amarok but it has NO AUDIO whatsoever! What's up with that? I am getting audio from Skype and other applications. Why is there no audio on Amarok? Yes, I am running the Gnome interface. I was able to run Amarok in 9.04 but I did have the KDE interface installed even though I wasn't using it. Do I need that interface installed to run Amarok in Gnome?

Software Center works...sort of! I've had two pieces of software downloaded from there hang up and then fail during download. My Internet connection was verified good at the time. It is my impression that there are a few bugs yet to be ironed out. The look and feel of this operating system is real good guys, and with a little tweeking the Software Center will be awesome too! You got Windows & Mac beat! Good work guys!

make sure you report what is not funtioning properly
although I do not use amarok normally you can edit the sound for the program by editing your preferences in the program
you might have to visit the amarok site for program information (settings)

Can you help with this problem?
