change icons in the panel/notification area

Asked by Sbn

Hi, is there a way to change the icons in the notification area on the panel? After I installed a new icon theme only the battery status changed and nm-app, envelope, rythmbox etc stay the same.

Hello,

You can download an another icon theme with those icons, or you can edit them yourself. This thread might help you in that: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=422332

I hope it helps.

Thanks, but what I need to know is where the icons for the notification area on the panel are located. I already have a theme installed but some icons in the panel haven't changed with the theme I installed. Hence I'd like to do it manually, replace or whatever I have to do to get a consistent look in the panel.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that. Icons are located at /usr/share/icons/

Sorry, I haven't explained myself properly. What I mean is that I know all about changing icons and themes - but still some of the icons in the notification area on the upper panel (the nm-app etc) haven't changed with the new theme I installed. So I recon'd there was another place where these icons are located and wanted to copy icons from the usr/share/icons to this location, wherever that is.

Oh, Ok, I get it, I think there's a .icons folder in your personal folder, but I suggest searching your disks for other folders named icons or themes. Oh, and there are multiple sizes for the same icons, maybe one of them isn't changed.

Can you help with this problem?
