BCM4312 802.11b/g [14e4:4315] (rev 01) not working on HP Mini 1010NR in Ubuntu 9.10

Asked by Colby

Newbie got Ubuntu 9.10 running fine on an HP Mini 1010NR with 8gb SSHD

WiFi does not work. Tried the network icon and checked the "enable networking" box which responds "No Network Connection" This laptop does not have a Ethernet jack. Multiple tries in various configurations of hardware WiFi switch LED does not turn on "blue"

Any leads appreciated. Niffty operating system

Please try all the suggestions one by one in the following bugreport:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcm43xx-fwcutter/+bug/379052

Also try this solution:

https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/87470

In order to implement that last solution, you need to have a working WIRED Internet connection in Ubuntu.

For future reference, in case anyone has issues with the BCM4312 wireless network controller in Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala):

Please first try the solution from Tom Haddon from this location:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/385293

If that does not help, please try the solution from Ayuthia from this location:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8297306
