Filezilla is my personal favorite. You need to enable the universe repository for that. A supported ftp client is gftp-gtk. You can find these in Synaptic package manager.

You can also access ftp places with nautilus:

Places - Connect to Server....

if it dosnt need a gui try running ftp from terminal

ftp works fine i use it also for graphical filezilla
