Ubuntu 9.10 Tomboy Notes Ubuntu One Computer Name

I have just installed Ubuntu Desktop 9.10 and connected and setup Ubuntu One. It found my machines name Peter-Laptop and I can share files etc.

I launched Tomboy, went to edit and preferences, choose sync and Tomboy Web which connects to Ubuntu One. I click connect which opens a web browser and I get asked for a computer name again (The text box is blank). Why is it not picking up my computer name? If I type Peter-Laptop it just seems to add a duplicate computer name linked to that account which is not what I want.

according to the tutorial (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuOne/Tutorials/Notes), you have to type the computer name in again. I did it, and it didn't add a duplicate computer name. I think it's just to make sure it knows what computer you're using at the moment to sync with.

Thanks for that. I did do as you suggest (Many thanks for the link). However it creates a duplicate computer name for me. This is on the same machine (I am running through VirtualBox).

Just been online, and this is what I get on the machines list:

Just to confirm I'm using the same virtual machines through VirtualBox, and have have done both on the same session without logging off.

Hmm. That's strange. I can't think of why it would do that. I'll do some research, and see if i can't replicate the problem.

I tried to add a new computer via the Tomboy sync and upon clicking the 'add this computer' button I end up at www.localhost.com with a url decorated with parameters. I know the data is not that sensitive but I do object that all that information has been forwarded to an unknown website!!!

My guess is that there is some name resolution issue going on here: I imagine it should end up at 127.0.0.1 rather than www.localhost.com. Anyone got any ideas?
